The analysis of the current state and prospects of development of construction of transport tunnels in Russia and the world is carried out. The main aspects of tunnel design and lining calculation are considered. General information about the technology and mechanization of tunnel construction by mining and open-pit methods is given. The procedure for designing the main technological processes of tunnel construction is considered.
